Producing Separate Pieces of Thinking

Separate the whole mess into smaller, more manageable chunks. For instance, if you’re integrating a new feature into an existing piece of code, that new feature should act like something of a module in the original code. It will be logically distinct from preexisting capabilities while still being simple to incorporate. The level of granularity is dependent on the level of implementation being targeted, be it the entire system, a specific service, or even a single line of code. SOLID principles are one method that can be used to ensure that this procedure is followed consistently.

Simple plug-and-play design

We want our modules to be easily installed and utilized. Only by following the SOLID principles of logical separation will we achieve this.

Leverage the most recent, reliable technology

We should only use the most recent, most stable versions of dependencies in our work. The time of release will tell you whether or not it is the most recent version, but that won’t help you with stability. Checking its reviews is a time-consuming process that can be followed, or you can check the release frequency of that item instead. If it happens frequently (every month), choose the version that is the most up-to-date but a month old.

If new versions don’t come out more frequently, go for the most recent one that’s at least three months old. Avoid utilizing the latest versions unless absolutely necessary.

Following best practices for software development will help your team work more efficiently, particularly if you have a limited team of software developers. As we’ve already said, none of these software development best practices are needed in every situation. Depending on the number and experience of your team, some may be too much.

But, no regardless of how experienced your team is, utilizing software best practices will help you work more effectively and increase the total amount of time it takes to make new versions of your code. By establishing a standard for software development, you are much less likely to make bugs that hackers could use.
